Axis orientation of an I beam - 2D analysis

Hi,

Is there a way to rotate the strong axis of an I beam in a 2D analysis?

  • Appart from my previous question:

I would add a suggestion . A reminder if the user changes the stress recovery point in the material definition.
    Something like: "Recalculation required".

Appart from that, I just finished a small Mecway template for our team to be able to check compression Rings and Crowns and agreement with hand calculation is more than excelent. All main expected axial loads, moments, compressive and bending stresses agreed really well. Maximum deflections not as good as expected but I'm reviwing my hand calcs.

  • You can't change the beam orientations in 2D. There used to be a switch for the 2nd orientation but I just recommend 3D instead for almost everything.

That's a good idea about recalculation required. I'd like to add that to everything but not just one feature or it will be confusing.
  • Thanks Victor.
