Hi, I came from automotive industrie were we use tools like NX or Catia. For working as freelancear I hace choosed Onshape that is online CAD modeling very well suited fof FEA model preparation and keep the same layout than traditional packages. Is …
At the end those tags are the best for showing the results to the client, there is nothing more clear. Actual tags are very usefull for the analyst, but for showing to the client maybe a more simple (only the postprocess value with unity) tags is mo…
Maybe a usefull option would be the possibility of move and keep several tags as you go picking nodes. In such way one as analyst could select the right node to shoe the value.
Kwip, you are right, but in my example of the snap belt I has those kind of results for loads, obviously they are zeroes, but I has to fix it by hand in order to plot on Excel. Who knows, maybe somebody test a nuclear reactor and fails due to this l…
These are the settings that I use normally for nonlineal on CCX. One of the problems that I have is that the results files can grow to 500-800 Mb easily.
My votes for multiple selection on the model tree as well. Another point that I found a little bit confuse is that when a group of elements is selected in the model tree, if we press the Delete key then the elements on the model are deleted also, n…
I can't solve the clip and others models that I have done before (on a fresh install of Windows 10, Mecway and CCX suite) on , even if I setup a bat file. I will back to the kwip version that runs smooth.
Regards
Víctor, for this kind of test normally I use a simmetry plane (in fact here we could use two planes), adding a displacement restraint (normal to the simmettry plane) to take in count this simmetry. This constraint also limit the rotation as we can s…
Great mesh and model Tim, I really like the estructured meshes and this looks very nice. Normally components are showed on the result tree as well, so you should be able to hide and show every one. Can you upload the model (without results) to see w…
Maybe what is happening is that with such small forces the part still is penetrating so no reaction/stress.
I'm not sure, but what I can tell you from experience, is that is always easier (less time to solve, is a math thing) for the solver apply …
Tim, I just donwload the win64 executable from some place that kwip has uploaded, and it works very very well. If you work with contacts I would advice to switch. Also CGX have some valuable improvements (like moving between increments directly with…
One thing that I found in the kwip version 2.10 is that when I ask for writing data in an external file (*NODE PRINT), if the value exced 9.9E+99 or 9.9E-99, it became 9.9+100 or 9.9-100 (so I has to edit by hands to plot in Excel)
Regards
Hi Tim, looks like you have done a nolineal FEA, in that cases you must move the time slider on the lower side of the Mecway's window to see the results. In CGX you are seeing the time increment 10, but in Mecway the time 0.
Regards!
By the way, v…
Maybe you can try appliyng a displacement and not a load. Then do a plot of reaction force vs displacement in Excel to know in which displacement you have reached the desired force.
Dave, see my comments bellow:
1. Is my approach to loading a reasonable first stab? I would make separates parts and apply contact (to allow the part to slide), but don't know if works for axisimetric elements, maybe you can model a quarter or less…
Hi Barrti, you just need to select all the nodes in the fixed side and create a new named selection, and one node in the movil and again create a new named selection. Then CCX will output the results in an external .dat file that you can import in E…
I though to sugest you to use TIE, but I just read in the documentation that is only for 3d elements. Then I though in MPC, but true is that I don't understant how to use according to the CCX docs. On the other side, in the Mecway docs, MPC looks us…
Hi, I just repeat the VMH sample and just add a custom step content to ask for the load on the fixed side and displacement in one node on the movil side (two node sets must be defined) to an external file, then plot the results on Excel to see the l…
Great example VMH! Will try to reproduce tomorrow. I really like the timed plot feature. I need to explore the table option for loading as well, I always use a second step but this can be usefull as well.
Guess that you must ask by means of a custom step line to save it and postprocess PEEQ (plastic equivalent strains).

Stefano, excuse my ignorance, but can you point me exactly to the Windows executable file? I have download several of them and can't find any .exe
Regards!
Drssp, this is the example.
I has removed all the small radius and features that don't affect the simulation, and then cut to have an equivalent quarter of the model. With this two simple things you can decrease the size of the model by maybe ten,…
For the smart guys of the forum, I just realize that the blue part is inverted :-)
Have finished succefuly a first run on the insertion operation, will try to run also the opposite direction to see how it performs. Tomorrow will post some nice pict…
Use CCX solver (don't remember about Mecway solver) that allow nolineal material plastic definition, contact and multiple CPU. Tomorrow I will finish a plastic snap belt assemby (two parts) with all of that and a realistic good mesh for the applicat…
Thanks prop_desing! I have the luck of made superb training with very smart guys. As I start long time ago when workstation were very modest compared to today ones, we need to be very precise and keep control of quantity of elements because times to…
